WECAMH05 | Optimization and Simuations of Beam Dynamics in APF Accelerators | 70 |
Design problem of APF accelerator for ensurance enough high quality of output beam is considered. As we know, this problem is not easy because we have to achieve stability of longitudinal and transversal motions simultaneously. One of the first significant results in this subject were obtained by V. V. Kushin. In this work the problems of optimizations of intense ion beam are considered. The optimazation approaches for some beam characteristics improving (acceleration and transmission rates) are considered. Obtained results are confirmed by particle in cell simulations.

TUPSA015 | Acceleration of Deuterons and Protons in Single RFQ Strucrure | 247 |
Some aspects of acceleration of protons and deuterons in single RFQ are considered. Usually vane voltage for protons must be two times less than vane voltage for deuterons. If space charge is significant vane voltage for protons can be too small to reach high efficiency of bunching and focusing of protons beam. It is shown that a rising of voltage up to nominal value for deuterons leads to increasing of capture and transmission for protons. Another problem is concerned with a choice of radial matching section parameters, which are optimal for both beams (proton and deuterons) simultaneously. Methods of optimization are discussed. Analysis of particles dynamics is illustrated by calculation's results.

Modelling of Dynamic of Charged Particles in BDO RFQ Program Complex
In current work a task of modelling of dynamic of charged particles in RFQ structures in BDO RFQ program complex is considered. Following models are realized in program complex: dynamic model of particles in equivalent running wave, dynamic model of particles in the envelops and model of 3D dynamic in standing wave. Parameters export between the models is carried out. For Coulomb interaction of charged particles different models of method of large particles are carried out as well as methods based on analytic approach of Coulomb field of the beam and estimation of the Coulomb field by net method. A possibility of results comparison with Coulomb field of particles by different methods is foreseen in this program complex. User graphic interface allows to choose a model, to enter and modify the parameters, to review calculation results.

TUPSA062 | Modeling of Triode Source of Intense Radial Converging Electron Beam | 336 |
The considered source of triode type produces intense radial converging electron beam for irradiation of cylindrical targets. As an electron emitter an explosive plasma cathode is used. The role of initial transverse velocities of electrons, defocusing effect of the controlling grid, the beam self-magnetic field, electron and ion emission from the controlling grid, backscattering of electrons and ion flow from the target is analyzed. Conditions for achieving required electron beam parameters (the electron kinetic energy - 120 keV, the beam energy density on the target 40 J/cm2 on a maximum possible length of the target surface) were determined.

Particle Swarm Method for Optimization of Special RFQ Channel
Particle swarm method is used for optimization of special RFQ channel. There is a considered possibility of separate preacceleration of the multicharged ions with the different A/Z ratios in single radio-frequency quadrupole (RFQ) channel. Magnitude of the injection energy into RFQ is about a few keV/u, magnitude of the injection energy into booster or following linac cascade are 300 keV/u. Aim of optimization to change regular part of RFQ or matching section profile to improve outut parameters of the beams particles, such as current, emittance, phase width, etc. Phase ellipses of the beams partiles on input RFQ may be arbitrary oriented in phase space. In this case particle swarm method is effictive enough for optimizations.

WEPSB024 | Program Complex for Modeling of the Beam Transverse Dynamics and Orbit Correction in Nuclotron, LHEP JINR | 414 |
Program complex for modelling of transverse dynamic of particle beams and orbit correction at Nuclotron synchrotron (LHEP JINR) is considered in current work. The program complex provides calculation of transverse dynamic of charged particle beams in Nuclotron and its axis, based on linear model with transport matrix of lattice elements, calculation of Nuclotron Twiss parameters, acceptance and emittance of the beam. A possibility to optimize the location of beam position monitors (pick-up) and multipole correctors is foreseen as well as calculation of the orbit with measuring data of pick-up stations of Nuclotron. Program complex includes realizations of orbit correction algorithms with response matrix and provides correction of the orbit in Nuclotron. User's graphic interface provides interaction of user with program complex, including performance on demand of the user of separate functions of the program complex, providing input and maintenance of parameters, download from file and record into the file of parameters and calculation results, graphical view of the calculations results in program complex. Program software environment is integrated with MAD-X program (upload, processing of data to and from, visualization). Format of input and output data is compatible with relevant MAD-X format.

WEPSB051 | Mathematical and Computer Methods of Data Processing in Nuclear Medicine Studies | 480 |
Currently nuclear medicine is a high-tech field. Its development requires solutions of problems related both to the improvement of hardware and computer processing of the information obtained in the course of study. The basic types of hardware of nuclear medicine are gamma cameras and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography (PET) and hybrid scanners (SPECT/CT, PET/ CT). The methods of SPECT data processing include analysis of static, dynamic, tomographic and ECG-gated images. The PET data reconstruction software restores the three-dimensional distribution of the radiopharmaceutical in the body. Performance of iterative methods increases with the use of modern graphics processors. Three-dimensional imaging allows a detailed analysis of the study area. The software also implements a fusion imaging of SPECT/CT, PET/CT scans performed in the same coordinate system. An application of data flow model in medical software development is considered. Web-based imaging front-end of storage and processing system is presented.

WEPSB005 | On the Minimax Problem of Beam Dynamics Optimization | 360 |
The problem of simultaneous optimization of the ensemble of trajectories and some selected trajectory arises in the research of the charged particle beam dynamics. The present work suggests the use of a smooth functional for the evaluation of the selected trajectories and a minimax functional for the evaluation of the dynamics of the beam of trajectories. A combination of those functionals is considered.

WEPSB015 | On the Integro-Differential Equations for Dynamics of Interacting Charged Particles Modeling | 392 |
In this paper we investigate the integro-differential model for the dynamics of charged particles with smooth interaction for the analysis and optimization of intense charged particle beams motion in accelerating and focusing structures. Introduced mathematical models allows us to calculate the first variation of the different functionals characterizing the desired parameters of accelerators in analytical form. Thus mathematical model can be effectively used in the analysis and optimization of charged particles dynamics in accelerators.

WEPSB020 | On a New Approach for Description of Self-Consistent Distributions for a Charged Particle Beam | 407 |
The present report is concerned with the problem of particle phase space distributions for a charged particle beam. A new approach is presented. It provides the possibility to specify various coordinates in the phase space. The main attention has been focused on the case where motion integrals are taken as phase coordinates. Using such coordinates, one can obtain a lot of self-consistent distributions. Some distributions for a breathing beam are considered as examples: generalized Brillouin flow, generalized KV distribution, and others. Besides, this approach allows simple graphical representation of various self-consistent distributions.

WEPSB055 | The Problems of Accelerator-Driver Design for ADS | 486 |
Main problems of accelerator-driver design for ADS are considered. Accelerator-driver should meet additional requirements in comparison with accelerators for other purposes: - high neutron production rate; - higher reliability; - continuous operation for more than 5000 hours; - possibility of accelerator parameters adjustment to regulate ADS power level. Different types of accelerators were analyzed taking into account the mentioned features and the fact that the most prospective way of ADS application nowadays is transmutation. It's shown that the most preferable accelerator type is proton linac. Also it's marked that for demonstration facilities accelerators with lower requirements and correspondingly cost can be used.
