Before the actual applications of PWAs in a wide range of disciplines, the output beam quality parameters require further improvements. Especially, the output beam charge and energy spread are contradictory parameters for optimization. This talk will present the recent works on the simultaneous optimization of the output beam charge and energy spread at Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Chinese Academy of Sciences. In addition, this talk will present the work of modeling the betatron oscillation in long-distance PWAs by considering the higher-order electromagnetic field structure and the radiation reaction effect, and show new phenomena based on this model. This model is useful for the beam optimization in future long-distance and high-energy PWAs.}}, }
