AB - Ion-ion merging is approved as an effective approach to verify the vacuum decay phenomenon inferred by quantum electrodynamics. To perform a collision with small CM energy, a new merging scheme is proposed in this poster. The main idea is a coasting beam stored in a figure 8 synchrotron collides with itself at a small angle. The advantage is simplifications of beam injection, cooling system and beam stacking. A luminosity of 7·10²³ cm⁻²s^{−1} is achieved.
