abstract = {{The method of using a vibrating wire as a miniature scanner with a measuring range of the order of the amplitude of wire oscillations has been successfully tested for measuring profiles of thin laser beams. Reliable results were obtained for measuring profiles of focused beams with a size of the order of 100-150 microns and having a complex spatial structure. The use of the stitching technique of profiles measured in different sensor positions allowed an absolute calibration of the profiles. The application of the method for accelerators beams having a bunched, RF structure is discussed. It is noted that the specificity compared to laser beams reflected from the wire surface is the mainly bulk nature of the interaction of the beam particles with the vibrating wire.}},
