abstract = {{A clean and precise RF reference signal is needed at different locations of a particle accelerator complex to synchronize the different accelerating structures and for other applications. Proper synchronization can only be achieved if the RF reference signal fulfills strict quality parameters in terms of jitter and long-term stability. The precise RF reference signal will be needed also in the case of the SKIF accelerator complex, which is being built by BINP in Novosibirsk. In this case, the reference signal stability of down to <1 ps is required. The design and development of the system for the generation and distribution of the precise RF reference signal at the SKIF complex are presented in this paper. The system comprises a reference master oscillator, distribution amplifiers, which also support the generation of higher harmonics of the RF signal, and optical transfer systems for the transfer of the RF signals over longer distances. Test results obtained with prototypes are also reported.}},
