A resonance accelerator LU-10-20 aimed at carrying out radiation processing of materials and researching radiation processes has been functioning in VNIIEF since 1994. The energy of accelerated electrons is up to 10 MeV, the average beam power - up to 12 kW. This accelerator has demonstrated that it is highly useful for performing radiation researches and tests. Currently the major part of accelerator systems such as RF power supply system and accelerating structure have lost in the course of continuous service their initial features and their hardware-component base is obsolete. That is why the production of an up-to-date accelerator complex with the similar output parameters of electron beam is highly promising. In future such accelerator should replace LU-10-20. A review of existing Russian and foreign systems of RF power supply is given. The perspective structure of the accelerating system is presented. There are reported the results of preliminary electrodynamic calculations of the accelerating section with power supply from the selected RF generator.
