In this study the model of a thin diaphragm in a rectangular waveguide is used to derive equations linking together the diaphragm's amplitude-phase characteristics. Additionally, an expression is obtained for the location of the closest to the diaphragm main reference plane on which the reflection coefficient is a real negative number, allowing us to determine amplitude-phase characteristics of the diaphragm. The model is confirmed experimentally. The study also shows that the main reference plane is located to the right of the diaphragm. Through adjustment of the location of the main reference plane characteristics of a thing diaphragm in a rectangular waveguide can be fully described.
