The HTS cables should combine high endurance to cyclic mechanical loads, thermal stability, transport currents and engineering current density with low AC (alternating current) losses and convenient circulating cooling. NRC "Kurchatov Institute" has been developing HTS cables similar to the well-known CORC (Conductors on Round Core) concept over the past several years. This background allows the development of AC Conductor on Round Duct (AC CORD) cables for prospective fast cycling HTS accelerator magnets and HTS solenoids for SMESs. AC CORD cables (in a metal conduit, or impregnated) consist of many layers of 2nd generation HTS tapes wound helically onto round coolant ducts. AC CORD cables can combine satisfying values for all the required parameters simultaneously. The paper gives a draft concept of HTS SMES solenoid for the NICA (Nuclotron-based Ion Collider fAcility) accelerator - collider power system, the cables preliminary designs for this solenoid and for an HTS fast cycling "warm yoke" accelerator magnets. State of the art of our 1st generation HTS current leads development and production for the test facility of the NICA magnets, for booster synchrotron and collider is presented in the paper.
