This article presents a conceptual design of a precision switch-mode power supply with the output current range from 0 to 1000A and an output voltage up to 12V. A key aspect of the main superconducting magnet, which the CBM detector is based on, will be its high nonlinear inductivity up to 20H. It imposes a certain degree of complexity to the control system of the power supply. A quench protection and energy extraction system for stored energy of 5MJ is also described.
