The structure operates in the standing-wave mode at a frequency of 2856 MHz. The accelerators differ in type and duty cycle of RF generators, electron sources, beam extraction and scanning devices and in configuration and layout of their auxiliary equipment. These modifications can provide the beam energy of 8-10 MeV and beam power up to 10⁻¹² kW. Facilities with the accelerating structure have been used for electron beam sterilization of medical disposables and food processing over ten years.
