  Technology of production of quadrupole magnets for NSLSII main ring is presented in the article. Quadrupoles have laminated iron yokes. The technology was developed in Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics. It includes method of correction octupole and sextupole harmonics. Field quality measurements of ready magnets are presented.

  A part of quadrupole lenses for NSLS-II main ring were manufactured at Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics. Some types of lenses have nose pieces on poles. Nose pieces permits correcting magnetic field harmonics. Corrections of octupoles, sextupoles and allowed harmonics were realized. Also corrections of amplitude of dependence sextupole harmonic from current were realized for some lenses.

  Magnetic field quality requirements of lenses in modern particle accelerators are high. For example, harmonic fields of quadrupole lenses (manufactured in BINP SB RAS) of main ring of synchrotron source NSLS-II, must have no more than 1-2·10-4 from the field at 75% of the aperture of the lens. Various methods of mechanical improvements are used to adjust the fields in the production process of magnetic lenses. Mechanical improvements result in increased time and cost of production. The report proposes a method for precise nondestructive correction of some magnetic field harmonics of the quadrupole lenses. Correction is performed using an additional element - non-linear current shunt of some coils. The report contains experimental data showing the possibilities of this method.
