In the 3-GeV RCS (Rapid Cycling Synchrotron) of J-PARC (Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex), multi-turn charge-exchange injection of H by using a thin stripper foil is performed to achieve high-intensity proton beam of 1 MW. The beam loss at 1 MW has already been well controlled, but for further minimizing both uncontrolled and controlled beam losses caused by the foil scattering of the circulating beam, recently we have implemented a lower vertical injection beam size and installed a corresponding smaller size stripper foil. A smaller foil gives a significant reduction of the foil scattering uncontrolled beam loss at the injection area, while an optimization of the vertical transverse painting area matching with a smaller beam size further gives an extremely reduction of the beam loss at the collimator section. The corresponding residual radiation at the recent operation with 700 kW beam power was also measured to extremely reduced.

Coherent electron Cooling (CeC) experiment aims on demonstrating cooling during this RHIC run, which will be concluded in April 2022. In this talk we will present results of the CeC experiment with special focus won the use and the control of the broad-band micro-bunching Plasma Cascade Amplifier with bandwidth of 15 THz. We will also discuss connection of this experiment with the developing the CeC cooler for future Electron Ion Collider.

The isochronous optics of the ESR is a unique ion-optical setting in which the particles within a finite momentum acceptance circulate at constant frequency. It is used for direct mass measurements of short-lived exotic nuclei by a Time-of-Flight method. Besides the mass spectrometry, the isochronous ESR has been used as an instrument for the search of short lived isomers stored in the ring, which was performed in 2021 for the first time. Introduction to the isochronous mode of the ESR, comparison with a standard operational mode, recent machine experiments will be presented here. Possible improvements of the isochronous optics at the ESR and perspectives of the isochronous mode at CR, FAIR will be outlined.
