In particular, because it allows probing whether an initial condition is close to resonance, and it enables assessment of the stability of the orbit, i.e. whether the motion is regular or chaotic. In this paper, results of recently developed techniques to obtain accurate tune computation from numerical simulation data are presented and discussed in detail.
