Recently the first version lattice has been designed for the HALS storage ring, and the natural emittance is about 18 pm·rad. In this paper, we study the collective effects in this storage ring, including calculations of intra-beam scattering effect and Touschek lifetime, and estimates of the thresholds of some single-bunch and multi-bunch instabilities.
