Web application was based on Tornado, a Python framework which was chosen for it’s support for non-blocking network I/O, making it ideal for long polling and enabling it to scale to large number of open connections. Main functionalities that were implemented include: signal metadata check, signal registration, database backup/restore and signal registration history administration.
