Their activity has to be synchronised, and the data produced by them have to be collected together, for example to form a "closed orbit measurement" or a "trajectory measurement". On the user side, several clients can access simultaneously the results from this instrument. Au automatic acquisition mode, and an "on request" one, can run in parallel. This results in a very flexible and powerful system. The functionality of the BOM system is fully described, as well as the structure of the software processes which constitute the system, and their interconnections. Problems solved during the implementation are emphasized.
