Unfortunately the effect of losses on beam instrumentation implies a reduction of the instrument sensitivity due to the background noise. In this paper, we will discuss the effect of losses on the wire scanner scintillator foreseen for the ESS linac, in particular the different hypothesis for the input will be described and preliminary results will be presented.
