Funding: Work supported by DOE contract number DE-AC02-98CH10886 I shall discuss the effects that become important at high current in the 3 GeV storage ring presently under design for the NSLS-II facility at Brookhaven National Laboratory. This talk will address the achievement of the high bunch density required in the ultra-low emittance (<1 nm) storage ring, and the challenges arising due to multiple small-gap short-period undulators. Specifically, I will focus on single and multiple intra-beam scattering, impedance estimates, and single bunch coherent instabilities. |
