However, it’s hard to generate this kind of advanced light source by the conventional lasers, especially for the soft X-rays with ultra-short wavelength because of no suitable reflectors. The external seeded free electron laser (FEL) is considered as one feasible method. Here, we give an example to generate highly temporal coherent soft X-rays with the wavelength 1 nm by the two-stage cascaded schemes. EEHG scheme is used as the first-stage while the HGHG scheme is used as the second-stage.
