This system required a field rise and fall time of < 57 ns and a field flattop of 1.6 μs. This paper describes the variety of improvements made over the years that have resulted in this latest thyratron pulser. The effects of the trigger, the reservoir and the load impedance on delay and rise time will be discussed.
