The limiting resolution usually arises from the optical transmission line. While an all-reflective transmission line can eliminate dispersion, the system is complicated and expensive. In this paper, we consider how to design a refractive optical transport line to minimize the time dispersion while maximizing the signal. We present a theoretical model of the dispersion, modeling, and measurements of the time dispersion for several different lens materials.
