AB - A six-dimensional (6D) helical muon beam cooling channel (HCC) has been developed for a last decade. The practical HCC lattice parameters were optimized for the cooling performance in theoretical and numerical simulations. The HCC design group has been formed and has begun the machine development to realize the channel. Recent accomplishments and present critical issues are discussed in the presentation.
