In current stage the gun section is under commissioning (phase 1). This paper presents the main characteristics of gun section beam diagnostics and the architecture of AREAL control system. The diagnostic system includes the measurements of the beam main parameters and its longitudinal and transverse phase space characteristics. The results of the facility first phase commissioning are summarized from the beam diagnostic and control point of view.
