Front-end servers establish the low-level interface to several types of power supplies, and a middle layer server provides control over physical parameters like field or deflection angle in consideration of the hysteresis curve of the magnet. A relational database system with stringent consistency checks is used to store configuration data. The paper focuses on the functionality and architecture of the middle layer server and gives an overview of the database infrastructure.
