Nuclotron is 6 AGeV superconducting synchrotron based on fast-cycled superferric 2T magnets. It was designed and constructed at the Laboratory of High Energies of JINR in the late 80s and put into operation in March 1993. The essential features of the new accelerator and magnet technology have been collected during 20 years of the machine work for the users are briefly reviewed. The further development plan is discussed.
