Energy recovery linacs (ERL) require constant monitoring of the injected and dumped current in order to protect equipment due to the excessive beam loss. The conventional scheme employs two DCCTs, which can provide the required accuracy but are not fast enough. In this paper we propose to utilize integrating current transformers with processing electronics of beam position monitors. The preliminary test results are presented and further development is discussed.
